Benson Duncan MacDonald, husband of Marie MacDonald, of North Napan Road, passed away at the Miramichi Regional Hospital on Friday, October 5, 2018, at the age of 88.
Born in Black River Bridge, he was the son of the late Duncan and Georgina (Jardine) MacDonald. He worked most of his life as a mechanic in Montreal and with several Miramichi businesses.
He was an avid fisherman and enjoyed woodworking in his later years and always looked forward to his weekly card games and his daily visits to Tim Hortons.
He is survived by his wife, the former Marie Wilson; one son, Carl MacDonald (Tina), of Miramichi; one grandson, Bradley; two step sons, Garnet Bremner (Tania) of Chicago, USA and Todd Bremner (Kelly) of Moncton; step grandchildren, Nicole, Christopher, Connor and Gage; three brothers, Henry (Anne), Walter (Bernadette), all of Miramichi and Perley, Medicine Hat, AB; two sisters-in-law, Marion and Lise. He was predeceased by his first wife, Doris (Dot) MacDonald; two brothers, Leigh and Eldon.
Visitation will be at Adams Funeral Home Ltd., 140 King St, Miramichi, on Monday, from 2-4 & 7-9 pm. Funeral service will be held from Adams Funeral Home Chapel, on Tuesday, Oct. 9, 2018, at 2 pm, conducted by Rev. Charlene Maguire MacKnight. Interment will be in the Black River Cemetery. As expressions of sympathy, donations to any charity of the donor’s choice would be appreciated by the family.
