Beatrice Ann Westhaver
96, of Mill Lake, passed away on Saturday, January 20, 2018 in St. Vincent Nursing Home, Halifax. Born in Cape Breton she was the daughter of the late William and Christy (McNeil) McCelland. During WW2 Beatrice worked in a plant assembling airplanes parts and later manufacturing shells for the war. She helped run her husband’s gas station in Sims Settlement. She also enjoyed snowmobiling, fishing and gardening at her home in Mill Lake. She was a very kind person and will be missed very much. Survived by her sons, Robert (Ritha), Mill Lake; Terry (Francesca Crowther), Coldbrook; daughters, Joanne, Sims Settlement; step-sons, Lloyd, Halifax; Mark (Margie), Hubbards; granddaughter, Candace Westhaver (Shawn MacKay), Truro; grandsons, Alexander Morrison, Sims Settlement and Charles MacLeod; great granddaughter, Destiney Coolen, Mill Cove; step-grandson, Max Mycka, Halifax; sister, Dorothy Yurchesyn, Oshawa, ONT.; many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by husband, Earl; six sisters and 7 brothers; step-daughter, Nancy. A family service will be held in 11 a.m. Wednesday January 24 in St. Anthony’s Catholic Church, Hubbards.
