Bazel Robarts
Bazel Frederick Robarts, age 88, of Windsor, Hants County, passed away on Thursday, January 4, 2018 in the Hants Community Hospital, Windsor. Born on October 6, 1929 in Avondale, Hants County; he was the son of the late Rodney and Annie (Harvie) Robarts.
Bazel started his work life at the age of 13 working in the woods; later he sold Fuller Brushes and drove a dry cleaning truck along highway 215. He worked on many farms while establishing his own farm. Bazel also worked at the Mounce Farm for over 30 years. He enjoyed working with horses including his own Percherons.
Surviving are his daughter, Tanya Robarts (Ian Gidney), Mink Cove, Digby County; stepchildren, Randy Hunter, Calgary; Patsy (Dominque) Catudal, Quebec; Krista Hunter, Ontario; Shelley (John) Lake, Belmont, Hants County; Brenda Hunter, Edmonton; granddaughter, Taylor Smith, Avondale; brother, Neil (Sheila) Robarts, Poplar Grove; sisters, Merrille O’Neil, Digby; Gwendol Tucker, Burlington, Hants County; Nina Boyd, Kentville; Vivian (Russell) Feltham, Avondale; many nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by brothers, Tom, Karl and Roy; sisters, Ellen, Eva and Elizabeth.
A celebration of his life will be held 2 p.m. Tuesday, January 9, 2018 in the Lindsay Windsor Funeral Home, 194 King Street, P.O. Box 2218, Windsor, Nova Scotia B0N 2T0. Rev. Kevin Cox officiating.
A private family interment will follow in the Newport Landing Cemetery, Avondale.
