Barbara Burton (O’Neil)
Passed away peacefully, surrounded by her loving family, on December 17, 2018 at 93 years of age. Predeceased by her beloved husband of 66 years to William (2012). Cherished mother of Tim and his wife Hope, and the late Susan (1974). Devoted grandma of Jennifer Susan Burton-Liang (Max), and Lauren Elizabeth Markovic (Tim). Adored great-grandma of Quinn, Kai, Mila and Layla. Predeceased by her parents Harry and Eunice O’Neil and by her 5 brothers and sister. Survived by her sister-in-law Betty Burton. She will be sadly missed by many nieces and nephews.
Barbara was a proud and devoted lifetime member of St. David’s Church. She was a retired employee of the Royal Bank of Canada. She found joy while doing arts and crafts, baking and volunteering at the church. In their spare time, Bill and Barbara enjoyed traveling abroad.
If you so desire, donations to the Windsor & Es County Humane Society or to St. David’s Church would be appreciated by the family.
A special thank you to the doctors and nurses on 8N at W.R.H. – Metropolitan Campus, especially Dr. Brown, Vanessa and Maria, for their care and compassion.
Visitation Wednesday from 3-5 and 7-9 p.m. at Families First
Visitation will continue on Thursday after 10 a.m. at St. David’s Church until the time of the funeral service at 11 a.m.
Interment Victoria Memorial Gardens.
