Obituary for Astros Helga, Emily Martin
Peacefully on Tuesday November 20, 2018 Astros passed away in her sleep after a short stay at Riverview Hospital.
Astros was born in Hnausa, Manitoba on October 24, 1930. Astros was predeceased by her beloved husband David, parents Jacob and Gudrun Sigridur (Sigga), sisters Jonia (Loa) and Sveinbjorg, and brothers Albert, Arni and Kristinn and one brother in infancy, brother-in-law Steward and Ian. She is survived by sister-in-law Thelma.
Left to cherish her memory are her son David (Diana), daughter Bonnie (Graham), grandchildren Brett (Onyee), Megan, Ashley (Ben) and Brittney, and great granddaughters Hanna and Layla.
The family wishes to extend their heartfelt thanks to all her caregivers. Cremation has taken place.
A Celebration of Life will take place on Saturday December 1, 2018 at Rae & Jerry’s Steakhouse 1405 Portage Ave, Winnipeg between 1 and 4pm.
In lieu of flowers, those wishing to make a donation in memory of Astros are asked to consider the Canadian Mental Health Association or a charity of your choice.
