Arthur James Jim Percy 2018

Obituary Overview
In Loving Memory of Jim
After a hard-fought battle, our sweet, strong, stubborn, and much-loved husband, father, and grandfather Jim passed away on March 26, 2018 in Oakville, Ontario with his family by his side.
Born on July 20, 1934 to parents Amelia (nee Bargent) and Arthur Percy, Jim was raised in Willowdale, Ontario along with his older twin brothers.
Jim graduated from Queens University in 1958 with a BSc in Civil Engineering and shortly after married the love of his life, Lillian (nee Swerbrick) who he adored fiercely until his last breath. Jim is also survived by his loving children Kristine and Douglas (Jenna), his cherished granddaughters Brooke and Katelyn, brothers Gordon (Donna) and Robert (Barbara), numerous nieces and nephews and his grand-dog and fury friend, Maggie.
Jim worked for the Ministry of Transportation (Department of Highways), transferring to Toronto, Sarnia, Chatham, Bancroft, Kingston, Kenora, North Bay and Burlington with family in tow prior to his retirement in 1991. While at Queens University he fell in love with the Eastern Ontario area and built “The Cottage”, his labor of love, in Battersea which was always home-base no matter where the family happened to be. As an avid gardener, curler, carpenter, water skier, fisherman, coach, golfer and marathon runner, Jim was always active and could usually be found outdoors, rain or shine.
While his passing has left a hole in our hearts, his life was well-lived. He has left us with many cherished memories, laughter, and lots of love.
A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. Memorial donations can be made in his honor to the Alzheimer Society of Canada, Canadian Diabetes Association, or the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Canada.
