Obituary for Arnold Rea
REA, Arnold William “Arnie” – Arnie’s life journey began on June 8, 1921 and ended with his peaceful passing on Thanksgiving Monday, October 8, 2018 in his 98TH year with family by his side. Arnie was the special husband of Queenie (née Miles) for 72 years. Loving father of Beverley Short (Wayne), and Bonnie Drake (Dale). Cherished grandfather of Jason Short (Tracey), Joleen Thomas (Stuart Humphries), Jeremy Thomas (Lana), and predeceased by grandson Ryan Short. Great grandfather of Cody, Jack, and Adam Short, Olivia, Violet and Tristan Humphries, and Ellie and Ben Thomas. He will be fondly remembered by his extended grandchildren Marty, Jennifer, Janessa, Jacquie and their families. Predeceased by his parents William and Levina Rea and his sisters and their husbands Jean Campbell (Bert) and Dorothy Corley (Gord). He will be remembered by his many nieces, nephews, and by many good friends and neighbours. Arnie’s family is very appreciative for the expert care and friendship shown by Dr. Sara Lynn Francis and the Palliative Care Team. Visitation will take place at the Mackey Funeral Home, 33 Peel Street, Lindsay (705-328-2721) on Saturday, October 13, 2018 from 11:00 a.m. until time of Funeral Service in the Chapel at 12:30 p.m. Following the reception Interment will take place at Emily Omemee Cemetery. If desired, memorial donations to the Ross Memorial Hospital – Palliative Care Unit would be appreciated by the family. Online condolences may be offered at www.mackeys.ca
