Arda Schaap (née Romeyn)
Passed away peacefully surrounded by her family at the age of 73 on Saturday, January 6th 2018. Beloved wife of 53 years to Herman Schaap. Loving mother of 5 children and cherished Oma to 12 grandchildren: son Robert (Annika Diehl) and children Torri, Brandon, Jaden, Wynter, Logan; daughter Marie and her son Justin; son Martin (Alicia De Jonge) and children Skyler, Bradley, Anna, Tiffany; daughter Jessica and her children Emma, Andrew; daughter Rachel (Adam Pincombe) and children Hunter, Evan. She will be forever in our hearts. She will be greatly missed by her siblings Ludy, Dirk, Jan and her extended family and friends in The Netherlands.
Arda was a devoted member of Faith Community Bible Church and faithfully served her Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. She shared her kindness, compassion and loving nature to everyone she met and passionately loved her family. “Well done, good and faithful servant”.
Our deepest gratitude to the doctors, nurses and staff of the Jewish General Hospital.
Visitation will be Friday, January 19th from 2:00-4:00pm and 6:00-9:00pm. A memorial and celebration of her life will be held at The First Christian Reformed Church, 52 Joseph Paiement, Dollard-des-Ormeaux, H9A 1J1 on Saturday, January 20th, 2018 at 2:00pm. In lieu of flowers, please donate to The Scleroderma Society of Canada.
