In Loving Memory
It is with great sadness we announce the passing of Antonio (Tony) Dahil Amante, beloved husband of Elenita (Ellen) Manzanilla Estrella Amante of Calgary, Alberta, at the Dulcina Hospice on September 10, 2018 at the age of 63 years.
He was the loving father of Aubrey Amante and her partner, Alex Arcega of Rockyview County, AB, Lovelyn Biglete and her husband, Neil Biglete of Chestermere AB. And will also be dearly missed by his two grandchildren, Key’Ara and Kimora Biglete, as well as many nephews and nieces and beloved extended family and friends.
He will also be lovingly remembered by his brother, Wilfredo Amante and his wife, Laila Amante, and family of Calgary, AB, his brother, Ernesto Amante and his wife, Cristy Amante, and family of Calgary, AB, sister, Teresita Capinpin and family of Manila, Philippines
He was predeceased by his father, Felino Amante Sr.; his mother, Carmen Dahil Amante; his brother, Felino Amante Jr.; and his twin brother, Victor Amante.
Tony was born in Manila, Philippines in 1954, immigrating to Canada in 1978 where he married Ellen and built a successful career in the oil industry as a Piping Designer. An amazing father to his two daughters, Aubrey and Lovelyn, it was no surprise that he also became the best friend of his grandchildren, Key’Ara and Kimora. He enjoyed bowling, technology, poker and travel, venturing to destinations all over the world such as the Caribbean, Hawaii and Europe. Well known for his perseverance in overcoming the impossible, he had suffered a major stroke in 2001, threatening his ability to walk again. He soon proved the doctors wrong, and was even able to drive again, refusing to allow physical limitation to hold him back from a full life in any way. His fun-loving nature, soft-hearted kindness and undeniable selflessness is why all of his many friends and family will miss him dearly. He passed away from a tough battle with pancreatic cancer, surrounded by his loving family and close friends.
Relatives and Friends are invited to prayers & visitation at Mountain View Funeral Home (Prairie View Chapel, 1605 100 Street SE Calgary) on Friday, September 21, 2018 from 6pm until 9pm.
A Celebration of Life and Funeral Service will be held at Mountain View Funeral Home (Prairie View Chapel 1605 100 Street SE Calgary) on Saturday, September 22, 2018at 10:30 a.m. followed by the burial at Mountain View Memorial Gardens.
