Obituary of Antonia Forte
Passed away peacefully at the Welland Hospital on March 28, 2018 in her 83rd year. Beloved wife of 60 years to Giuseppe “Joe”. Loving mother of Rosanna Millar (Dan), Maria Long (Jim) and Joanne Germano (Dino). Loving nonna of Megan (Nick), Michael (Adriana), Selina, Emma, Seth, Jessica, Mark, Eric and Julia. Survived by her in-laws Rosina Valentino, Giovanni Forte (Gaetana), Vincenzo Forte (Marie), Mario Forte (Mary), Italia Forte (late Antonio), Clotilde Tamburri (Gaetano), Vittoria Ricci (Giacomo) and Angelina Vacca (late Gino). Predeceased by her parents Eugenio and Maria Tamburri, her siblings Concetta (late Giovanni), Liberantonio, Suora Alfonsina (Domenica), Cecilia and by her sister in-law Lucia Ricci (Pasquale).
Antonia was born in Indiprete, Isernia, Italy and immigrated to Canada in 1962 with her three year old daughter to join her husband. She easily adapted to her new country, joining old friends from her homeland and making many new ones. She was a devoted member of the C.W.L. at St. John Bosco Church and also sang in their choir. She worked for many years at Bick’s Pickles, loved social gatherings, her flower gardens and most especially family dinners and spending time with her family and friends.
Antonia was small but mighty. She fought a lengthy illness for 19 years with dignity to the end and will be deeply missed by all her family and many friends.
