KARACZYN, Antoni “Toni”, Passed away suddenly at the age of 93. Beloved husband of 62 years to Wally (nee Wladyslawa Dorosz). Loving father of Janet Donnelly (John) and Marcella Beneteau (Tom). Devoted grandfather of Joel (Jennifer), Aaron (fiancée Melissa), Phillip and Michael. Great-grandfather of Raylin. Antoni leaves behind his sister Wladyslawa in Poland. Predeceased by his parents and other siblings. Antoni was born and raised on a farm in Wolowe, Poland. During the Second World War he was taken to Austria as a farm labourer. After the war he became a chauffeur for the French Army. He came to Canada at the age of 25, worked on a farm in Manitoba, and then moved to Windsor to live with family where he met the love of his life, Wally. He was a proud Chrysler union employee for over 25 years. Besides being a hard worker, he had many hobbies including gardening, dancing, travelling, cycling, playing cards, hiking and telling jokes. Toni was the original “McGiver” handy man. He was a devoted member of the Holy Trinity Church and Polish community organizations. Above all, he loved his family and enjoyed spending time with them. Toni will be deeply missed by his family who loved him dearly. Visitation will be held at WINDSOR CHAPEL (Central Chapel), 1700 Tecumseh Rd. E., 519-253-7234, on Thursday, January 18, 2018 from 3-5 & 7-9pm, with Parish Prayers at 8pm. Funeral Services on Friday, January 19, 2018 at 10am from the funeral home then to Holy Trinity Polish Church (1035 Ellis St. E.) for Funeral Mass at 11am. Burial to follow at Heavenly Rest Cemetery. In kindness, donations may be made in Antoni’s name to Holy Trinity Church or to the charity of your choice.
