Obituary of Anthony Reid
Anthony (Andy) Reid passed away peacefully in his 84th year on Tuesday, August 28, 2018 at Lakeridge Health in Oshawa surrounded by family and friends.
Andy is survived by his son, James; daughter, Jennifer; and his grandchildren, Matthew and Lindsay. He is also survived by his brother, Jerry, sisters-in-law Anne and Mary Anne, nieces Catherine, Laura, Sandra and Susan, and nephew Robert. Andy was pre-deceased by his wife Sue, brother Ed and his parents, Anthony and Kathleen Reid.
Andy’s most cherished experiences were with his family and friends, whether on Toronto Island, at their house for 40 years in Toronto, on an adventurous vacation during retirement with his wife, or the numerous places in between. In the later years, despite facing Parkinson’s, he always retained his sense of humour, generosity, and love for everyone. To those who knew him, he was a true gentleman.
In accordance with Andy’s wishes, private cremation has already taken place.
The funeral will be held at the Humphrey Funeral Home A.W. Miles – Newbigging Chapel, 1403 Bayview Avenue (south of Davisville Avenue) on Tuesday, September 4, 2018 at 3:00 p.m. followed by a reception in the Rosedale Room. Interment will take place at a later date. In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation to Parkinson Canada (www.parkinson.ca). Condolences, photographs and memories may be forwarded through www.humphreymilesnewbigging.com.
