Obituary of Annette Tidd
It is with great sadness the family of Annette Eloise Tidd, (Theriault) of Bridgetown, Nova Scotia announce her passing on Wednesday, November 21, 2018, at the Meadows Home for Special Care in Yarmouth, Nova Scotia. She was 80.
Mom passed away peacefully after a courageous battle with Alzheimer’s. Born October 2, 1938 In Bridgetown, she will forever be remembered by her children, Stephen (Lee), Edmonton AB, Linda (Brian) Whiterock, B.C and Yvonne (Dan) St. Albert, AB, her sister Alice (Donald) Deveau, Kentville, NS, and her grandchildren, Morgan, Jordan, Jarvis, Eryn, Colton and Garrett. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her husband John; brother Louis; infant daughter Marilyn and grandson, Spencer.
Annette was a life member of the Bridgetown Lawn Bowling and Quoits Club, and was one of the finest competitive lawn bowlers in history of Nova Scotia. In a 32-year span, Annette represented Nova Scotia in the Canadian Lawn Bowling Championships, a total of 29 times, winning 3 gold, 8 silvers and 4 bronze medals. In the Atlantic Championships, she won 9 gold and 7 silver medals and was a member of Team Canada in the 1981 World Women’s Bowls. In 2008, she was honored by the Canadian Lawn Bowls Executive for her excellence and contributions to the sport and was inducted into the Bridgetown Area Sports Hall of Fame in 2010.
Annette coached high school junior curling and was an avid cheerleader for her kids on and off the field. She was a passionate gardener and loved reading, pickling, and the occasional poker game! Annette has always been known for her great sense of humor among her close friends and family.
The family wishes to extend their gratitude to The Meadows Home for Special Care for their loving care and compassion. She will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved her.
Visitation with be held Tuesday, November 27 from 7-9 p.m., at the Kaulbach Family Funeral Home, in Bridgetown. A funeral mass will be held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, November 28, at St. Alphonsus Catholic Church, in Bridgetown, with a reception to follow at the church.
