The death of Anna Margaret (McKenzie) Estey of Strathadam. NB, widow of Charles Estey, occurred at the Miramichi Regional Hospital on Monday, February 26, 2018 at the age of 89. Born in Strathadam, NB, Anna was the daughter of the late Frank and Delia (Taylor) McKenzie. Anna retired from the former Northumberland Co-op Dairy and was a member of St. Mary’s Prayer Shawl Group. Anna is survived by three daughters: Lynn Estey (Kevin Dunn) of Strathadam, NB, Ella Lavoie (John) of Cassilis, NB and Valerie Estey (Pierre Essiamdre) of Ottawa, ON; one sister: Mona Allison of Boom Road, NB; four grandchildren: Gillian and Ryan Lavoie, Jamie Wiebe and Kayla Estey; two great grandchildren: Charles Wiebe and Noah Lavoie also several nieces and nephews. Anna is predeceased by one daughter: Karen Estey; two sisters: Louise Power and Sister Mary McKenzie and two brothers: Jack and Leo. At the request of the family there will be no visitation. A public Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated from St. Mary’s Roman Catholic Church on Thursday, March 1, 2018 at 2 PM with Father Antonio Reyes officiating. Burial will follow in St. Mary’s Roman Catholic Cemetery, later in the spring. In Anna’s memory a donation may be made to a memorial of one’s choice.
