Morin: André Henri “Andy”
Andy died peacefully at the Mattawa Hospital on Thursday January 4, 2018, at the age of 76. Andy is survived by his true love and wife of 55 years Muriel (nee Goulet), his sons’ Kevin (Wendy) of Mississauga and Kirk of Mattawa. He is also survived by brothers’ Claude (Faye) of Parry Sound, and Eric (Martha) of Mattawa as well as his mother-in-law Rita Goulet of Thorne, brother-in-laws Guy Goulet (Ramona) of Port Elgin and Raymond Goulet (Marie) of Thorne. He will be greatly missed by his nieces, nephews and many friends and neighbours near his home in Mattawa and cottage in Kipawa. He was predeceased by his father Ulric Morin, mother Simone Morin (nee Turcotte), brother Theo and father in-law Lionel Goulet.
Andy was born on April 5, 1941 at Mattawa. He was a skilled craftsman who used his creative vision to build things large and small from wood, metal, and stone or any other material that captured his imagination. His passion for outdoor living and recreation, regardless of the season, was only surpassed by quality time spent with family and friends. Andy will be remembered for his natural ability to be a friend to everyone he met. Even the briefest contact with Andy left you with a smile and a lasting impression.
Andy’s final wishes were that he be cremated and that there be no traditional funeral. A celebration of his life will take place at a later date. In memoriam donations to the Heart and Stroke Foundation are greatly appreciated.
