1926-2018
Althea Myra (Gillmor) Hall died unexpectedly at the Passamaquoddy
Lodge on August 20, 2018 in St. Andrews at the age of 92. Althea is
survived by her son, Roswell Hall and his wife Susan of St. George,
her grandchildren Rodger Hall and Lori of Calgary AB, Gayle Farmer and
husband Doug of Bristol, CT, Tabatha Leslie of Utopia, NB and June
Barry and husband Ricky of St. Stephen, NB, several great
grandchildren and great-great grandchildren and nieces and nephews.
Also survived by her sister Mary Judd of Burlington, ON and her
brother David Gillmor of Surrey, BC. She is preceded in death by her
husband of over 50 years, Wesley Hall, her parents, Edith and Roswell
Gillmor, her sister Ruth (Gillmor) Parks, her brother George Gillmor,
her sister Joanna (Gillmor) Maxwell and her sister Leslie (Gillmor)
Wright.
Althea was born on June 2, 1926 in Bonny River, NB to Edith and
Roswell Gillmor. She married Wes, a diesel mechanic in 1941. Althea
was a nurturing soul always caring for her siblings, grandchildren and
family members. She worked at the pharmacy in St. George for several
years and enjoyed curling in her spare time. Althea loved going to
McDougall Lake to the cottage where she enjoyed snowmobiling, boating
and gardening. She also enjoyed reading, knitting and crocheting.
Arrangements in the care of the St. George Funeral Home (755-3533) 26
Portage Street, St. George NB. The funeral service will be held from
the St. George Funeral Home Chapel on Monday at 2:00 pm, followed by
the interment at the St. George Rural Cemetery. In Althea’s memory,
donations to the NB Heart & Stroke Foundation would be greatly
appreciated by the family.
