Aloysius “Wishie” McKinnon 1927 – 2018
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Aloysius “Wishie” McKinnon of Mount St Joseph Nursing Home, formally of Douglastown, NB on Saturday April 21st, 2018 at the age of 90. Born in Douglastown, NB, Wishie was the son of the late Colin and Stella (Power) McKinnon.
In his younger days, Wishie worked as a delivery man for Gem Bakery, delivering bread. He also worked with the survey crew for the province. Later in life, he worked as an attendant at the detox centre for the Miramichi Hospital.
He will be sadly missed by the love of his life, Eileeen Richard, and her daughters, Tania Sussey (Marc) of Fredericton, NB, and Tracey Arcand (Steve) of Medicine Hat, AB. Papa Wishie will also be greatly missed by grandsons, Zachary and Jayden Arcand of Medicine Hat, AB. He is also survived by his sister Helene Violette (Rod) of California, sisters in law, Helena McKinnon of Miramichi, NB and Elaine McKinnon of Moncton, NB, as well as several nieces and nephews.
Besides his parents, Wishie is predeceased by his brothers, Reginald, Charles, and James McKinnon and sister, Frances Poirier.
At Wishie’s request there will be no visitation or funeral service. Interment will take place at St. Samuel’s Roman Catholic Cemetery at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a charity of one’s choice.
