2018

18, 2018. Born in Millville, Kings County, he was a son of the late
Michael and Bertha (Joudrey) MacDonald. His father, Michael worked for

Scotia, Alberta and Ontario and finally back to Alberta again,
retiring from the forces as a Warrant Officer, Military Police. He
then worked at the Post Office in Ottawa and drove a school bus, from
where he retired. He loved spending time with his wife, Audrey,
telling funny stories and making people laugh. He enjoyed his
children, sports, especially hockey, camping, family reunions, line
dancing, visits and driving. He is survived by his wife,
Audrey; his children, Debbie (John), Steven (Xinglan), David, Laurie
(Randy) and Danny; his grandchildren, Jason, Connor, Jacob, Keke and
Jocelyn; a sister, Louise (Fred) Hockley, New Minas; three brothers,
Laverne “Mac” (Karen), Bedford; Michael, Penticton, British
Columbia; John (Claudette), Kentville; a sister-in-law, Dyane
MacDonald, Penticton; many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a
brother, Vincent; a sister-in-law, Irene MacDonald; a grandson, Lee. A
public memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, November
23, 2018 in the Martin Brothers Riverview Chapel, 610-4th Street
South, Lethbridge, Alberta. A graveside service will follow in the

It is with sadness that I learned of Alan passing.
I knew him all through school and until he joined the RCAF in our home town of Kentville, NS
I am now a widow as well. Barry passed away in 2010.
I enjoyed out timely reunion here in Ottawa many years after being in contact with him through you at work in Rockcliffe.
With sympathy, love Louise Boyes
I am Allan MacDonald’s eldest son, Steven. I was the only one not in attendance at the funeral. I was too ill to travel (Crohn’s Disease). I will be visiting his gravestone this summer (2022). I can do that much at least. And say goodbye to my father. I miss conversations with him. He was a great source of wisdom for me. Seeing solutions to issues that I would never have thought of. I miss you dad. Love, your son, Steve.
