Life Story for Allan Derbyshire
DERBYSHIRE, Allan James – It is with great sadness that the family announces the passing of Allan, peacefully in his home, on February 15th, 2018 at the age of 97. Predeceased by his wife of 69 years, Vera and his sister Eleanor. Loving father of Mark (Shannon) and grandfather of Daulton and Elijah.
Allan served overseas in WWII and was a longtime member of the Royal Canadian Legion. He was past president of the Niagara Lions Club and the NOTL Golf Club. Allan was the top canvasser for the Heart & Stroke Foundation for over 20 years and enjoyed volunteering his time with the Meals on Wheels program. He was very proud to be a seventeen-time Club Champion and a three-time Champion of Champions winner.
Allan’s family will receive friends at Morgan Funeral Home, 415 Regent Street, Niagara-on-the-Lake on Friday, February 23rd from 2-4 & 7-9 pm. Funeral Service to be celebrated at Grace United Church, 222 Victoria Street, Niagara-on-the-Lake on Saturday, February 24th at 11 o’clock. For those who wish, memorial donations may be made to the Heart & Stroke Foundation.
