Passed away peacefully with loving family at her side on

at Maison McCulloch Hospice
Beloved wife of Florito “Benny” Benedetti (predeceased 1992). Loving mother of Susan Mathieu (Daniel) of Hanmer, Peter (Ellen) of Whitby and Paul (predeceased). Cherished Nana of Chantal Weaver (Darren), Paul Mathieu(Justy), Anthony and Christopher and great grandmother of Alexis Aline. Step grandmother of Kyle, Adam and Daniel. Predeceased by her parents Paul and Georgette Deslaunais, her sister Gisele Demcheson and her brother Ivan. Survived by her siblings Yvette Robert (Albert predeceased) of London, Mona Rochefort (Paul) of Astorville, Jacques (Rachel) of Dowling, Rachel Dawson (Dave) of Orillia, brother-in-law Metro Demcheson of London and sister-in-law Paulette Deslaunais of North Bay. She will be sadly missed by her many nieces, nephews and friends.
Aline was born in Field, Ontario on June 3rd, 1931. She was a teacher for many years, starting her career in a one room country school in Badgerow Township just outside of Field, teaching grades 1 to 8. As she raised her family, she resided in Peterbell, Hamilton, Rockwood and Fauquier before finally ending up in North Bay where she began teaching again. In 1965 her and her family moved to Capreol where she taught at St. Marys school until she retired in 1986. In 1992 when her beloved husband passed away she moved to Capreol and then to Hanmer to live with her daughter Susan and her family. She had a passion for knitting and sewing and made many things for her grandchildren, nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews, as well as knitting for different organizations including: Guardian Angels (for preemies), Counted cross-stitch for children and for the church. She also enjoyed cooking and baking.
The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to all of the caregivers who allowed us to care for her until she was brought to the hospice. Thank you to the doctors, nurses and staff at Health Sciences North, especially Dr. Bourdon, Dr. Michon, Dr, Langille, Dr. Benedict, Dr. Pearse, Dr. Cano, Dr. Imbeau and to the surgical staff of the 7th floor North as well as Dr. Singh and the staff at the Northeastern Cancer Center. Thank you to her family doctor, Dr. Gauthier and the staff at LINDS. Also thank you to the amazing staff at the hospice espically Dr. Tenhunen, Dr. Walton and Dr. Michael for their great care and compassion.
