Obituary of Alice MacKenzie
Alice Jean Mackenzie, 93 of Millbrook, Pictou County passed away on peacefully on Friday, December 28, 2018 in Glen Haven Manor, New Glasgow.
Born in Westville, she was a daughter of the late Albert and Carrie (Ross) Thompson.
Alice was a member of St. Andrews Presbyterian Church, Gairloch and the Ladies Aid. She and her husband had resided in Ontario for several years where she was a foster care mother before returning to her home in Pictou County. A community minded person, Alice was always willing to give a helping hand. Their home was always welcoming to everyone, especially enjoying visits from grand children.
Alice will be dearly missed by daughters, Doreen Fraser (Gordon), Millbrook; Brenda Rundle (Bill), Millbrook; son Dean (Ann Marie ), Millbrook.; grand children Adam, Carrie, Kelly, Tracey, Brody and Joshua; great grandchildren, Austin, Owen, Bradyn, Camdyn, Kaitlyn, Connor, Declan, Drew, Noah and Ellie and brother-in-law Hector MacKenzie.
She was predeceased by her husband Ian, grand son Cory Fraser; brothers, George and Harold in infancy; Leonard, Arthur, Ross, Warren and Robert Thompson and sisters Catherine Stewart and Annie May Halliday.
Alice is resting at Eagles Funeral Home, Westville with visitations from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m.Wednesday, Jan. 2nd . Her funeral service will be held 2 o’clock Thursday at Eagles Funeral Chapel, Westville with Bonnie Langille officiating. Burial will be in Gairloch Cemetery.
