The passing of Alice Sarah McInerney of Fredericton, NB occurred on Tuesday, December 25, 2018 at Dr. Everett Chalmers Regional Hospital. Born on February 14, 1948 in Paquetville, NB, she was the daughter of the late Lorenzo and Beatrice (Maillet) Dion. Alice spent her career teaching in Oromocto and retired after 32 years. She was not only a teacher but she was a life long learner. She loved to read, and was happiest when surrounded by books, Alice also enjoyed playing bingo.

Alice is survived by her daughter, Lyn MacFarlane (Troy) of Dieppe, NB; sons, Kirk McInerney (Tara) of Fonthill, ON, James McInerney of Miami, FL, Ryan McInerney (Nicole) of Georgetown, ON and John McInerney of Fonthill, ON; grandchildren, Brett, Jessica, Kira, Isaac, Aaron, Mason and Myles; sisters, Adrienne Coy (Bob), Rita Babineau (Joe) and Gisele Brown (Jim); several nieces and nephews; her dear friends, Rosaire Savoie and Betty Smythe. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her sister, Lorraine Desjardins; brothers, Fred and Stephen Dion; the father of her children, Keith McInerney.

Visitation will take place at York Funeral Home’s T. Gordon MacLeod Memorial Chapel on Wednesday, January 2, 2018 from 1-2 pm followed by a Memorial Service at 2 pm with Father Martin Arputham officiating. For those who wish, remembrances may be made to the Canadian Diabetes Association or the charity of the donor’s choice. Personal condolences may be offered through www.yorkfh.com
