PLYMOUTH – Alice Mildred (MacMaster) Leonard, 89, wife of George Stewart Leonard, passed away peacefully, Thursday, January 18, 2018, in the Aberdeen Hospital, New Glasgow.
Born in River John, she was the daughter of the late Wilfred and Adelaide (MacKenzie) MacMaster. She was a graduate from the Provincial Normal College, Truro, in 1949 and taught in various schools in Halifax, Colchester and Annapolis County. Alice enjoyed raising animals, especially her poodles, Lily and Bucky. She was a proud member of the Nova Scotia Dairy Goat Association and took great pride in raising purebred Alpine Dairy goats. Her summers were spent camping with her family and several winters in Florida. A woman of great faith, her favorite scripture was John 14:2 “In my Father’s house are many mansions”
Surviving are her husband, George; daughters; Margaret “Peggy”, Plymouth; Patricia “Patty”, White Court, AB.
A graveside service will be held in Heatherdale Memorial Gardens, Alma, at a later date. Donations may be made to any charity of choice.
