Alice Adeline (Martin) Morgan
Alice passed away peacefully with her family by her side on May 26, 2018 at the Drumheller Health Centre. She was born in Calgary, February 18, 1931. She grew up on the MacIntosh farm at Munson, Alberta and was educated at Munson and Olds, Alberta. Alice married Elam (Ole) Martin in 1950 and moved to the John Chambers farm east of Morrin, in the Sunbeam school district. She enjoyed every aspect of farming and livestock. She loved riding her horse to take lunches and coffee to the field for many years. Alice was also a longtime member of the Sunbeam School Society and she and Ole drove school bus for 40 years in that area. In her later life she enjoyed skiing and golf and loved to work in her yard and took great pride in its appearance. Alice was fortunate to spend the last 7 winters in Mesa, Arizona with her son Terry and a new community of friends which she enjoyed. Alice leaves to mourn, her daughter Diana (Rick) Wolf and son Terry Martin and numerous nieces and nephews in Alberta, British Columbia and Ontario. Alice was predeceased by her husband Ole Martin in 1982, parents Fred MacIntosh (1955) and Hattie MacIntosh (1991), sister Elizabeth Fowlie (1976) and brother Jim MacIntosh (1998). In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Drumheller Area Health Foundation (Palliative Care Unit). Our family wishes to extend our gratitude and appreciation for the compassionate care given to Alice by Dr. Dayo, Dr. Mateer, Nurses and Staff of the Drumheller Hospital. We would also like to thank our family and friends for the visits and kind gestures.
As Mom’s favourite pastime was a cup of coffee and a visit, we will be having a coffee get together on June 23, 2018 from 2:00 P.M. – 4:00 P.M. at the Morrin Community Hall.
Courtney-Winter’s Funeral Homes are in care of the arrangements.
Our most sincere sympathies to the family and friends of Alice Adeline Martin Morgan February 18 1931 May 26 2018 (age 87).source
