Obituary of Agatha Gossen
Agatha Gossen was born on Christmas Day 1929 in Jansen, Saskatchewan, the middle child of 9. Her early years were spent in a farm in Aberdeen Sask. As a young girl, her father passed away and her mother moved the 9 children to Niagara on the Lake. She grew up working hard to help support the family. She met Harvey Gossen as a teenager and they married on August 6, 1949.
Harvey and Agatha had 4 children together and moved several times for studies and ministry bringing them eventually to St. Catharines. They served at Fairview MB church for 13 years together when Harvey suddenly passed away.
Agatha’s greatest joy was her faith, her family, her kids, grandchildren and great grandchildren. She enjoyed her extended family, hiking, quilting, playing scrabble and later working at Brock University.
Agatha Gossen died peacefully at Extendicare at the age of 88 in the early hours of Dec. 6, 2018. Agatha is survived by her 4 children and their spouses. Brian (Ann), Carol (Paul), David (Rhonda), and Mark (JoAnne); her 9 grandchildren and 6 spouses, and her 16 great grandchildren. She is pre-deceased by her husband of 25 years Harvey, her grandson Nathaniel, and her siblings John, Anne, and Jess.
