ADELARD “EDDY” JODOUIN
passed away peacefully on Tuesday January 30th, 2018 at the North Bay Regional Health Centre in his 87th year.
Loving and devoted husband for 56.5 years to Shirley (nee O’Brien) Jodouin.
Admired father of Bruce Jodouin (Carol) of Chesterville, Bill Jodouin (Cathy) of Bath, Jim Jodouin (Anita) of Las Vegas, Patty Mason of Napanee, Dean Jodouin (Sue) of North Bay and Denis Jodouin (Andrea) of North Bay.
He will be forever cherished by his many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Survived by his siblings, Eli “Shorty” Jodouin, Rita Desroches (Germain) and Robert “Pee-Wee” Jodouin (Crystal).
Predeceased by his parents Alex & Ida (nee Forcier) Jodouin, his sisters Irene Gervais, Yvonne Lapointe, and Therese Deschamps and his brothers Albert “Buzz”, Leo, Roger & Delphis Jodouin.
Eddy was a well known “trucker” having worked for Deluxe, Smith, Nordfibre, Bakkes and Erb Transport. With over 40 years of safe driving under his belt, “Gramps” shifted into park and retired from Erb in 2000.
A man of great faith, he was a devout Catholic and when his home parish of Corpus Christi closed he would find comfort in the word of God at the Base and the Motherhouse in North Bay.
He was 4th Degree Knight with Knights of Columbus.
On any day you could find Eddy enjoying a walk in the “Brookes Street” neighbourhood and more recently down Trout Lake Road. Eddy loved to be outdoors and never let the weather, nor Parkinson’s slow him down from his daily explorations.
He loved his family, and visiting with his children, but nothing could beat when his (great) grandkids would sit beside him or on his lap. He had the patience to sit and listen for however long they wanted to be there.
His hard work ethic and legacy of unconditional love will live on through his family and continue to be passed down through generations to come.
The Family will receive visitors and friends at the McGuinty Funeral Home (North Bay) on Friday February 2nd from 2-4 and 7-9. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Peter the Apostle Church,299 Airport Road. North Bay on Saturday, February 3rd, 2018 at 11 am. A Private family burial to take place at Holy Cross Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations to the charity of your choice would be gratefully acknowledged by the family. Online condolences can be made at www.mcgunityfuneralhome.com
