She is survived by her daughter Linda Eggebrecht (Tom), her daughter Carol Schweb, her daughter in law Kathleen Schweb, Grandchildren Matt Schweb (Naomi), Sheryl Neilson (Brad), Anna Eggebrecht, Great Grandchildren Cole & Justin Schweb, Keylan, Shonti, Jaden, Brea & Amber Neilson. Ada was predeceased by her husband of 66 years, Archie Schweb, her son Richard Schweb, her parents Gabor and Ada Hegedus; three siblings, Irene Altwasser, Brownlow Kennett and Douglas Kennett.
Ada grew up trying her best to keep up with her two older brothers on a farm in Saskatchewan and in her opinion she could do anything they could do, only better. She became an accomplished horse woman with or without a saddle and loved animals, spending many hours in their company as a child, and for the rest of her life ranching with her husband Archie.
Ada loved to knit, crochet, cook, decorate cakes, paint landscapes, quilt, etc She was never idle, very creative, innovative and energetic. Fishing was a passion she finally had time to pursue later in life. She would spend an entire day on the lake patiently waiting for the big one. She grew her own vegetables, made jam and canned fruit all of her life. She also found time to enjoy the family and friends that surrounded her. The doors of her house were always open and the time that was spent there was filled with food, laughter and fun…and more food.
In the last few years she crocheted hundreds upon hundreds of squares for Blankets for Canada keeping busy and helping others as long as she could.
Her family and friends will miss her dearly.
Our most sincere sympathies to the family and friends of Ada Margaret Schweb 1922 2018 (age 96)..
