DEPTUCK, Laurette Gertrude (nee Filiatrault)
Laurette passed away peacefully at the Kingston General Hospital on Monday, December 31, 2018, in her 92nd year. Laurette, beloved wife of the late John Deptuck and loving mother to Ronald (Mary-Elizabeth) of Holland Landing, ON, Carole of Kingston, Brian of Bainsville, ON, Mary of Bromont, QC and Daniel (Meagan Freer) of Kingston, cherished grandmother to Jennifer, Mark (Denise), Diana, Sacha, Luc (Danielle), Anneli, Davin and Kalen and great grandmother to Joshua, Noah and Chloee. She will be sadly missed by her dear sister Hélène Filiatrault, her in-laws and numerous nieces and nephews. Laurette had many passions including the love of her family, friends, pets and her community, and was known for her remarkable talents in gardening, cooking, knitting. Also acknowledged for her boundless generosity, she gave herself selflessly to family and projects within her church and community, throughout her life. A special thank you is extended to the staff and volunteers at Providence Manor and KGH, for the wonderful care that Laurette received over the past few years. Friends and family will be welcomed at the James Reid Funeral Home, 1900 John Counter Blvd., Kingston on Tuesday, January 8, 2019 from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday, January 9, 2019 at 11:00 am at the Our Mother of Sorrows Chapel at Providence Manor, 275 Sydenham Street, Kingston. Rite of Committal will be held at Glenhaven Memorial Gardens where Laurette will be reunited with her beloved John. For those who wish, donations may be made to the Alzheimer Society of KFL&A or to the Cataraqui Region Conservation Authority in Laurette’s memory.
