1929-2018
D. Merle Evans – 89, of Greenwich, Kings County, passed away
peacefully surrounded by her family Saturday, December 29, 2018 in
Valley Regional Hospital, Kentville. Born in Halifax, she was a
daughter of the late Wilfred and Dorothy (Deal) Walker. In her earlier
years she had been employed with the Income Tax Department. Merle had
resided in and travelled to many places with her husband Richard, who
served in the Navy. Merle enjoyed dancing, playing cards and was fond
of animals. She is survived by two daughters, Gillian (Greg) Mitchell,
Greenwich; Lynn Fossett, Kentville; two sons, Richard, Greenwich;
Robert (Susan), Halifax; one sister, Fay (Eric) Bach, Calgary; one
brother, James (Bev), Whynott Settlement; three granddaughters, Paige,
Courtney and Rachel and three great grandchildren. She was predeceased
by her husband, Richard. A graveside service will be held at 11:00
a.m. Saturday, January 5, 2019 in Mount Denson Cemetery, Reverend
Stephen Hopper officiating. Donations in memory may be made to the
Canadian Cancer Society. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to
the White Family Funeral Home and Cremation Services,
Kentville.
