In loving memory
MURPHY, CARMELLE (Lafrenière)
Peacefully in her sleep on Wednesday December 19, 2018 at the age of 83 years, forty-six years to the day after the death of her husband Gerald Raymond Murphy. This loving mother of Louise Murphy (Dennis), Joanne Murphy-Plamondon (John) and Richard Murphy (Charlene) taught her children the strength that come with close family ties, hard work and generosity. Devoted grandmaman of Christopher (Jonalynn), Cameron, Tyler, McKenna and great grandmother of MJ. Survived by siblings Paul, Yvette, Gerard and Claire. Predeceased by siblings Guy, Leo, Rita and Claude (the family reunion on the other side of the veil grows!). Since her late teens, Carmelle worked as a bookkeeper and retired from OC Transpo as Paymaster. A pioneer in spirit, she next became the co-owner of a Curves fitness franchise in Gatineau before retiring again five years later. Her community service included many years as a driver for Meals on Wheels. A special thank you to the 6th floor angels at the Ottawa General Hospital and the amazing staff at the New Orchard Lodge.
