Marleta Mae Schragner “Peanut”, age 78 of Stratford and formerly of RR# 2 GadsHill, went to be with her husband on December 16, with family at her side at the Stratford General Hospital. Beloved wife of the late James Arthur Schragner who predeceased her September 20, 2018. Marleta was born in Sebringville, August 26, 1940, daughter of the late Earl and Irene (Keenan) Schellenberger.
Marleta married Jim in 1961 and farmed all of her life. She was a member of 2nd St. John’s Lutheran Church, Wartburg. She devoted her life to family and always enjoyed watching her children and grandchildren play sports.
Loving mother of Robert Schragner (Sheri) and Susan Moeser (Douglas). Grandmother of Cole and Niomi Schragner and Jamie Moeser (Siarra). Dear sister of Alleen Bartlett-Burns. Also survived by brothers-in-law Don Kennedy, sister-in-law Violet Cook and many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by sisters Delores Kennedy, Betty Leinweber (Ken), brothers Paul Schellenberger (Joanne), Ron Schellenberger (Doris) and nephews Mark and Doug Schellenberger and William Robert Leinweber.
Visitation at the W.G. Young Funeral Home, 430 Huron Street, Stratford on Wednesday, December 19, from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. The funeral service will be held at 2nd St. John’s Lutheran Church, Wartburg on Thursday at 11 a.m. Rev. William Kramer will officiate. A reception will follow. Interment at 2nd St. John’s Lutheran Church Cemetery.
