Obituary Overview
Forever In Our Hearts
Rob passed away on Monday, December 10, 2018 with family by his side. Despite a strong fight, he lost a lengthy battle with kidney disease at the age of 54.
Rob was born and raised in the farming community of Grayson, SK and attended post-secondary school in Moose Jaw prior to settling in Regina.
Working as a handyman throughout his life, Rob began in carpentry, later moved to work as an IT technician and also spent his spare time as the family on-call vehicle mechanic.
He was a proud member of the Knights of Columbus Father Burns Council #5949.
Rob was always the first to offer help and always put his family first. He was everyone’s number one fan, even if that meant cheering (yelling) until he was kicked out of the arena.
Over the years Rob’s family enjoyed numerous camping trips to Buffalo Pound Lake and Crooked Lake, where he enjoyed his favorite assortment of sweets and his family marveled at his trailer parking abilities.
Most of all, Rob was known for being strong-willed, determined, and had an entertaining quick wit coupled with a sarcastic sense of humor. Rob had a big heart and an even bigger personality, and will forever have a place in the hearts of those who knew him.
Rob was predeceased by his parents Dan and Eleanor Exner. Rob is survived by his wife Tracy; children Tegan (Justin) Geissler, Tyson Exner (Anna Lu), and Matthew Exner (Chloe McEachern); siblings Brian (Elaine) Exner, Leon (Cheryl) Exner, and Garnet (Darlene) Exner; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
A heart felt thank you to the surgical teams, doctors, nurses, and Regina General Hospital staff for their immense efforts to keep him with us.
Rob will be remembered as a loving father, husband, brother, uncle, nephew and in-law.
A PRAYER SERVICE will be held at Holy Family Parish, 1021 McCarthy Boulevard, Regina SK on the evening of December 14, 2018 at 7:00 p.m.
A MASS OF CHRISTIAN BURIAL will be celebrated at Holy Family Parish on December 15, 2018 at 10:00 a.m.
In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Rob may be made to the Kidney Foundation of Canada, Saskatchewan Branch, Suite 1, 2217 Hanselman Court, Saskatoon, SK S7L 6A8.
Arrangements entrusted to Regina Funeral Home and Cemetery (306) 789-8850.
