Obituary of Marie Schofield
Marie Frances Schofield, 84 (39) of Hortonville, passed away peacefully in her home in Hortonville on December 10, 2018.
Marie enjoyed sewing, dumpster diving, auctions, word puzzle books, watching curling and knitting. She knit countless pairs of mittens, which she donated to four local elementary schools and numerous other items were donated to local hospitals. She was a strong-willed, compassionate person, who was reluctant to ask for help, but gave freely of herself and her time to assist anyone.
She was a member of the Hortonville/Grand Pré Women`s Institute. She worked for over 20 years at Hostess Chip Plant in New Minas.
Marie is survived by her sons David (Jim) Pinch; Robert (Grace) Schofield; Tony (Kym) Schofield; Sean (Tiffany) Schofield; daughters Gloria; Lucy Jane and Lynn Schofield; brothers Tom and Earl Pinch; 14 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and 3 great great-grandchildren; and several half brothers and sisters.
She was predeceased by her husband, Robert; her mother Ethel Pinch and father Robert Kennedy.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to 911 and the paramedics.
Cremation has taken place and a Celebration of Life will be held on December 20, 2018 from 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm in the Hortonville Community Centre. Arrangements have been entrusted to Serenity Funeral Home, Wolfville Funeral Chapel, 568 Main Street, Wolfville, B4P 1E5 (902-542-4656).
