Marilyn’s Obituary
In the early morning of December 1st 2018, Marilyn Elizabeth Newcombe passed away peacefully at the age of 72 years.
Born in Ottawa, Ontario, Marilyn moved first to Fort McMurray and then to Peace River in the 1970’s with her partner and future husband Vahe Shimoon. Marilyn and Vahe had 2 girls, Anjil and Crystal, both of whom were with her in the last weeks of her life.
Marilyn was pre-deceased by her parents Harold and Dorothy (Dot) Newcombe, and is survived by her older sister Irene and her daughter Jolene.
Marilyn’s service will be held on Friday December 7th at 2pm at the Chapel of Memories in Peace River. A reception will follow at Peace Valley Inns. As Marilyn was an avid artist throughout her life, please send donations to the Peace River Art Club in lieu of flowers.
