Alan Richard McCormick 2018

In loving memory of Alan Richard McCormick 1945 – 2018 … best husband ever to Penny and dearest father to Kip and Erin.
Al passed of cancer at Brampton Civic Hospital surrounded by everyone in his immediate family. True to his unique, lovable character, right up to the end he entertained his nurses, doctors and all who visited with witty comments, making upbeat the seriousness of his situation. He was truly a one-of-a-kind person. He passionately enjoyed teaching at VMCI and SCI where he made lasting friendships with countless colleagues and students. Al lived life to the fullest, enjoying his cottage experiences most of all. Our souls are empty without him, but we know he is in a place where there is no pain or suffering. We know the angels welcomed him with open arms and his kind spirit will make Heaven an even better place. We are grateful to have had the privilege of being his family.
There will be no formal funeral. Al would not have liked a mournful ceremony. Instead, on Saturday, December 8th, there will be an in-and-out drop-in at our home in Bolton from 12 noon to 4 pm where anyone who has a moment can come and share happy memories with others who knew him. If directions are needed, please email alpen@sympatico.ca for the address.
For those who may wish to send flowers, our family would like to invite donations to the Canadian Cancer Society as an alternative. Such a gift would help countless others, and Al would have appreciated that.
Condolences for the family may be offered at www.EganFuneralHome.com

Our most sincere sympathies to the family and friends of Alan Richard McCormick 2018..

Sympathies message

  1. Penny, Kip and Erin,
I was so saddened to hear of Al’s passing. He was indeed a wonderful man and a great teacher.
I had the pleasure of working with Al at Silverthorn, for a few years and sitting next to him everyday.
He always had a funny story to share with all of us and always had his lottery money ready for me first.
I have fond memories of his year end pool parties for our department and he was an impeccable host.
He always came to work with a smile on his face. He loved all of you tremendously, and always spoke so dearly of you all. May he rest in peace.
