Shwapnil Sarker
The family of Shwapnil Sarker announces with great sadness his passing on Monday November 19, 2018 at the Royal University Hospital in Saskatoon. His three-year long battle with cancer finally ended. He is now in eternal peace.
Shwapnil was born in Toronto on March 17, 2006. Left to mourn are his loving parents Sabuj Sarker and Shilpi Rani Bhadra, and dear sister Shayuree. Also left to mourn are his paternal uncles Swapan Kumar Sarker (Lipi) and Tapan Kanti Sarker (Rita), aunt Banani Sarker (Bidyut) of U.K., maternal aunt Protima Bhadra (Gour), Chinmoyee Bhadra (Tapash), uncle Sanjit Bhadra (Menoka), Lipika Bhadra (Bijoy), grandmother Parul Rani Sarker of Bangladesh, grandmother Pushpa Rani Bhadra of Saskatoon, grandaunt Sheuli Das (Subir), and many relatives in Bangladesh and India. He was predeceased by paternal grandfather Keshab Chandra Sarker, and maternal grandfather Ranjit Kumar Bhadra. Shwapnil will be missed by his many friends in the Saskatoon community.
The funeral prayer will take place on Tuesday, November 20, 2018 at 5:30 PM at Hillcrest Funeral Home and Funeral Home followed by cremation. There will be time for public viewing at the Funeral Home on Monday, November 19, 2018 from 5:30 to 8:00 PM, and on Tuesday, November 20, 2018 from 4:30 to 5:30 PM.
The family is grateful to the physicians at the Saskatoon Cancer Centre – Drs. Ali, Mpofu and Sinha, and the entire nursing staff of the pediatric unit for all the compassionate care as well as the care at Sick Kids Hospital in Toronto and St Jude Children’s Research Hospital in Memphis Tennessee.
Donations in memory of Shwapnil can be made to Jim Pattison Children’s Hospital in Saskatoon or to a charity of choice.
