1922-2018
Our beloved mother and grandmother Nellie Suttis (Jordan)
Ward of Saint John, wife of the late Leon A. Ward, passed away on
Wednesday, November 14, 2018 at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Born
in Port Hilford, N.S. on March 16, 1922, she was the daughter of the
late George and Ada Jordan.
Nellie is survived by one daughter, Bonnie (Ivon); two sons,
Robert (Kate) Ward of Penticton, B.C. and Richard (Deborah) Ward of
Bridgetown, N.S.; seven grandchildren, Jason, Matthew, Ryan, Alexis,
Kaitlyn, Suzanne, and Timothy, as well as nine
great-grandchildren.
She graduated from the Moncton Hospital of Nursing in 1947,
was very active in the United Church and was made a lifetime member of
the U.C.W. In 1990, Nellie and Leon moved to Saint John to be closer
to their daughter and family while enjoying their retirement
years.
Arrangements are under the care of
Brenan’s Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint
John, N.B. (634-7424). A graveside service of
remembrance will be held at Memorial Gardens, Moncton, N.B. at a later
date. Donations in Nellie’s memory may be made to
