Johansen Carol nee Parkes November 11 2018

1943-2018
Surrounded by her loved ones, Carol passed away peacefully at the West Island Palliative Care Residence on November 11, 2018. She leaves to mourn her beloved husband of 50 years David, her cherished children Sara and Richard, her brother Richard Parkes (Anastasia), her niece Ania, her nephews Edward and Dominic, her Lakeshore Light Opera family as well as many other friends.
Born in Romsey, Hampshire, she trained as a physiotherapist at St. Thomas’s Hospital in London. After the wedding, family life in the west of England was the order of the day before moving to Paris for a period of three years. The family moved to Canada in 1981. She quickly became involved with the Anglican Church as an administrative assistant at St. Mary’s Church, Kirkland, and nearly 20 years at St. George’s Church, Place du Canada and was an active parishioner at the Church of St. John the Baptist, Pointe Claire, for over 20 years. She had also been an active member of the Lakeshore Light Opera since 1989 and had served on the Board for 15 years, including 6 as the President.
Special thanks go to the oncology department of the Lakeshore General Hospital, in particular to Josie.
A celebration of her life will take place at the Church of St. John the Baptist on Saturday December 15, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. (233 Sainte Claire, Pointe Claire (Qc) H9S 4E3).
In lieu of flowers, donations to the West Island Palliative Care Residence or a charity of your choice would be appreciated by the family.
Arrangements entrusted to Voluntas (Voluntas.ca (514) 695-7979).
