Simon, William “Bill”
September 11, 1931 – November 8, 2018
Surrounded by family until the end, Bill passed away on Thursday at the age of 87. Predeceased by his first wife, Anne (nee Fugedi), in 1957, and second wife, Marlene (nee Newcombe), in 1991. Beloved father to Leslie Harrison (nee Simon), Susan, Stephen (Zee), Bradley and Richard (Nathalie) Simon, and cherished grandfather to Raine, Zephy and Asher. Much loved son of the late Joseph and Anna (Boha) Simon, and brother and best friend to Joe (Dorothy) Simon. Bill will also be sadly missed by his in-laws, Don and Donna Kinch and Harry Lewis, his nieces and nephews, extended family, and friends, including long-time companion, Jacqueline Sells. Bill was proud to be one of the first employees at Baycoat, where he retired after 30 years as Manager, Operations and Planning. He was a long-time curler and avid golfer, and treasured over 50 years of summer fishing trips to Louie’s. Above all, family came first. Bill was a good and gentle man, whose kindness, generosity and unconditional love will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
