Obituary of Margaret McAllister
McALLISTER, Margaret Ann – age 91 of Pictou, passed away peacefully surrounded by family on November 5, 2018 in the Palliative Care Unit of the Aberdeen Hospital, New Glasgow. Born in Central Caribou on December 8, 1926 she was a daughter of the late Kenneth and Mary Bell (Baird) Langille. Margaret was a homemaker and was a fantastic cook who loved to play Scrabble. She is survived by her children, Deborah (Michael) Cannell; Dale Marie Eckert; Dawn Denise Eckert; step children, Grant McAllister; Nancy Barylski; Sharon McAllister; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren; brothers, Alex Langille; Lloyd Langille; sister, Mona Richard; and many nieces and nephews. Margaret was predeceased by her first husband, Robert Eckert; husband, Adelbert McAllister; brothers, John Langille; Charles Langille; Gordon Langille; sister, Nita Davidson; grandson, Nathaniel Luke MacFadden. Visitation will be 2-4 and 6-8PM Thursday, in McLaren Funeral Home, Pictou. Funeral will be held 2PM Friday, in McLaren Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Michael Cannell officiating, reception to follow in First Presbyterian Church Hall, Pictou. Burial will be 1PM Saturday in Fair Haven Memorial Gardens, Moncton, New Brunswick. Donations in her memory may be made to the Palliative Care Unit of the Aberdeen Hospital or a charity of your choice. www.mclarenfuneral.ca
