of Bedford, NS passed away on July 9th 2018 at the age of 86. Born in James River, NS
He was the son of the late Russell & Annabelle (Malcolm) MacKay. George loved camping, bowling, playing cards & socializing with his many friends at Convoy Quay. He was an avid horseshoe player, belonging to the City of Lakes Horseshoe Club for 25 Years. He will be sadly missed by his wife of 61 years, Jean (Nickerson), daughter Donna(Randy)MacPhee, Truro, son David(Debbie)MacKay, Dartmouth. Granddaughters Erika(Andrew)Hamelin, Shelburne, Ont., Nikki Pace(Lionel Clark)Brookfield, Kimberlee (Rob)Milberry,Truro. Great Grandsons, Brayden Milberry, Hunter & Colby Clark. Surviving members of his family, sister Marlene(Allan)MacLean, Cape Breton, brother Daniel(Marian)MacKay, Alberta. He was predeceased by several other brothers & sisters. Cremation has taken place. Memorial service to be held on Friday, July 13th at 1:30pm at All Saints Church Bedford, Rev Shirley Carras officiating. Reception to follow in Church Hall. Private Family burial at St. John’s Cemetery, Halifax. Donations may be made to the Heart & Stroke Foundation or the IWK Hospital if desired. Family flowers only.
