In Loving Memory Of
Arlyn Scot Lykins
Arlyn Scot Lykins, resident of Grande Prairie, passed away Saturday, October 27, 2018, at the age of 27 years.
Arlyn was born February 14, 1991 in Fort St. John, BC. He had many adventures with his family through the Yukon, British Columba, and Alberta before they settled in Grande Prairie in 2004, where he attended Crystal Park School. After completing school in 2010, he moved to the Group Home where he enjoyed the next eight years in good company.
Arlyn loved to connect with people, even after the seizures took his speech. From a young age he loved and was fascinated by firefighting and surely would have spent his days pursuing his passion. Despite his struggle with L.G.S., a rare form of epilepsy which began at age 3, Arlyn’s trust in God never wavered and was used to strengthen the faith of his family.
The life he never got to live, along with his death, will be grieved by his parents Scot and Colleen; older brother Chris and the Akerstrom family, younger sister Tanisha and the Pintkowski family; and youngest sister Desirae and the McDonald family. Arlyn also leaves behind countless loving aunts, uncles and cousins who will fondly remember his deep blue eyes and curly red hair. Many tractor rides were shared between Arlyn and Grandpa Pete who will forever cherish their memories.
They day he left us, Arlyn joined our Granny Reid, Grandpa and Grandma Bert, and Grandma Pete in Heaven.
A Viewing will be held on Friday, November 16, 2018, at 1:00pm, at Oliver’s Funeral Home in Grande Prairie (10005 107 Ave.).
A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, November 17, 2018, at 11:00am, at Victory Church on the Rock in Grande Prairie (7702 100 St.).
