Murdock James Newhook, 89 born in Hampden NFLD and raised in Roddickton died peacefully in his sleep in St Vincents Nursing Care Halifax N.S Oct 27th 2018. Son of William Newhook of Botwood, and Sarah Newhook, (Ralph) of Hampden. Predeceased by brother, Floyd and sister, Adella . Survived by sisters, Aleta, Halifax and Ruby, Rodickton. Murdock was a member of the Armed Forces serving in the RCN (Bosns) for 25 years. Retiring as Petty Officer 1st Class. He then served 15 years in the Auxiliary Navy in Halifax N.S. He is survived by his wife, Frances (Kieley); children, James (Edna), Barbara Dejong (Darryl), Shawn (Tammy), Freeman Cull (Glenda). He is also survived by his grandchildren, Natasha, Sabrina, Kyle, Kristopher, Kody, Scott, Stephanie, Christine, Jessica, Nicole, Hollis, Terri-Lynn, and Alison as well as 14 great grandchildren. On Friday November 2nd from 10am till 2pm a Celebration of Life will be held at Atlantic Funeral Home 771 Main Street Dartmouth N.S. B2W 3T9. In lieu of flowers please send donations to the Alzheimer’s society
