Obituary Overview
In Loving Memory
Carol Anne Van Horn passed away peacefully early Sunday morning at the age of 65. She was adored and cherished by those who survive her; her loving husband Warren, devoted daughter Sarah, and many other family members who cherished her very much. Carol was a woman of literature, music and art. She spread the joy of reading and creativity in all its forms to everyone she touched. She was a legendary librarian throughout her career, and contributed countless volunteer hours to teaching children, arts projects and various high school and university events like graduations and yearbooks. Her infectious laughter and sense of humour are remembered fondly by all who knew her. She had many passions, including acting, singing, crafting and playing the piano and accordion. She also loved a hot cup of Tim Horton’s coffee and binge watching Netflix (don’t we all?) Most of all, she had an immensely generous heart. Carol wouldn’t hesitate to give of herself to family, friends and strangers alike – her love, time, energy, food, clothing, money, anything she could offer – she was truly an Angel walking the earth. she firmly believed that what you gave out you got back, and she lived that motto fiercely every day of her life. Her departure came much too soon, and her radiant light will be deeply missed. May we uphold the memory of that light, and honour the countless gifts she gave to her family and community. We love you Carol. The truly great ones always go too soon. Following the service, the family extends an enthusiastic invitation to a dinner reception at Mandarin Restaurant, one of Carol’s favourite places to dine. Please join us to eat, drink and be merry, and give Carol the chance to do something she really loved; bring together her family and friends, and pick up the dinner tab, one last time.
Our most sincere sympathies to the family and friends of Carol Anne Van Horn 2018..
