Remembering
On behalf of the Small family, it is with great sadness we announce the passing of Ron Small.
After a hard fought battle with illness, Ron passed away peacefully and surrounded by family on October 11. He was a loving husband to June for 51 years, and an incredible son, father, gido, brother, uncle and friend. We were all profoundly blessed to call him ours. He leaves behind an amazing legacy of faith, family, hard work, and a passionate love of life that will never be forgotten. Ron had a larger than life personality that was rivaled only by the size of his heart. His happiest moments were traveling with June, summers at the lake, hunting and fishing with his sons and grandsons, and when surrounded by his many friends and extended family members. We are eternally grateful for memories of time spent that will help light our way.
Ron is loved by his wife June, and his three sons, Trevor (Kim), Curtis (Tanya) and Sheldon, (Paula). He is also lovingly remembered by his grandchildren, Ethan, Emma, Keegan, Dallas, Trysten, Ryder, Madeleine, Josh, Isabelle and Ava and great-grandchildren, Koda and Vera; as well as by his sisters, Rose (Mike), Addie (Lev) and Joyce; together with his brother, Mike (Shirley). He also leaves behind many treasured nieces, nephews and cousins. Ron was predeceased by his parents, Tom and Mary Small and his sister, Shirley.
We would also like to thank the doctors, nurses, and staff of the Grey Nuns Community Hospital Palliative Care Unit for the loving care they provided for Ron. In lieu of flowers, we ask that you please consider donation to the Canadian Pulmonary Fibrosis Foundation.
A Funeral Mass will be held on Friday, October 19th at 11am, at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church in Sherwood Park. Luncheon to follow. All those that knew and loved Ron are welcome.
