Obituary of Melvin Sparkes
Melvin Cecil Sparkes passed away peacefully, trusting in his Lord and Saviour on October 7, 2018 at the Dr. Hugh Twomey Health Care Centre in Botwood, NL. He was 78 years of age.
He is predeceased by his parents Cecil and Violet (White) Sparkes, brothers Donald and Neil, and nephew Wayne. He leaves to mourn his children Glen (Gina), Sylvan Lake, AB; David (Joanna), Sherwood Park, AB; Donna (Maurice), Toronto, ON; Derrick, Edmonton, AB; the mother of his children Bernice Janes, Stephenville, NL; grandsons Tyler and Zachary; brothers Clarence (Madonna), Point of Bay, NL; David, Belleville, ON; Calvin (Janet), Napanee, ON; sisters Shirley (Nelson, deceased) Cole, Point of Bay, NL; Rita (Gary) Uhlman, Belleville, ON; Ruby (Richard) Plumley, Belleville, ON; Sandra (Frank) Moreau, Seattle, Washington; Loretta Short, Botwood, NL; Sharon (Gary) Arsenault, Plainfield, ON; Cathy (Donald) Howse, Oshawa, ON. He also leaves a large circle of nieces, nephews, and friends.
Pastors Terry Grimes, Moral Bess, and Edwin White will conduct the funeral service at Living Faith Pentecostal Church, Point of Bay, NL on Friday, October 12th at 2:00 PM; and interment at the Community Cemetery, Point of Bay, NL.
The family would like to express their heartfelt gratitude to Dr. Ryan Dean, the palliative care team, and staff at the Dr. Hugh Twomey Healthcare Centre for their loving and compassionate care.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be sent to Life Outreach International Water for LIFE, P.O. Box 4000, Langley, BC, V3A 8J8.
