Age 77, of Dort’s Cove, Guysborough and Cole Harbour. It is with profound sadness we announce the peaceful passing of Gail Marie Williams (Cochrane), on Thursday October 4th, 2018, at the QEII in Halifax, surrounded by her loved ones. Gail was born March 21, 1941 in Yarmouth to Rupert & Dorothy Cochrane (Muise). She is predeceased by both parents, husband Kenneth F. Williams, sister Pamela Cochrane and brother in-law Ross McCulloch. Gail has remaining siblings Faye Hazel (Gerald) and Madonna (Heather) McCulloch. Gail is survived by her caring and loving companion Nathan Squires, son Troy Williams (Astrid and son Marcel) Antigonish, and daughter Kelly Williams, Elmsdale. Gail will be greatly missed by her grandsons Tyler Williams and Riley Williams.
Gail was a business school graduate, avid quilter, a board member for the Prince Henry Sinclair Society and proud supporter of the Guysborough Memorial Ladies Auxiliary. She was a faithful wife and partner to two wonderful men, a devoted mother, sister and grandmother with unwavering loyalty and kindness to her family and friends. Gail was beautiful in every way inside and out. Her early years were devoted to raising her children and helping husband Kenneth run their construction business until his passing in 1997. The last 14 years she has spent “snow birding” in Florida and travelling Europe with her partner of sixteen years, Nathan Squires. She has collected many wonderful friends throughout her life who have provided her with much joy and whom she provided joy to in return. She was a
strong and fearless force of nature.
Cremation has taken place. A gathering will be held on Thursday Oct 11, 2018 from 1:00-5:00 pm at Cole Harbour Funeral Home, 1234 Cole Harbour Road, Cole Harbour.
In lieu of flowers, donations made be made in her memory to the ALS Society of NS.
