Margaret Burbine
1925-2018
The death of Margaret Jean Burbine of Salisbury,
NB and formerly of Amherst, NS, occurred on Thursday, October 4, 2018
at the Moncton Hospital, NB. Born in Williamsdale, NS in
1925, she was the daughter of the late Richard and Rose (Lirette)
Weatherbee. She was a former member of True Blue Lodge #14 in Amherst,
NS.
In her younger years, she worked for Maritime
Telephone Co. and Aerovox Canada in Amherst. She also cared for a
number of foster children in her home. She enjoyed quilting,
cooking, dancing and playing cards.
Margaret is survived by one daughter, Norma (Carl)
Hawkes of Salisbury, NB; one granddaughter Lisa (Shawn) Fagen of
Oromocto, NB; two great granddaughters ; two great grandsons; two
sisters Opal Firth of Toronto, ON and Myrna (Lester) Howe of Moncton,
NB and several nieces and nephews.
Besides her parents, Margaret was predeceased by
her first husband Sherman Halliday; second husband, Murray Burbine;
two sisters Irene Langille and Dorothy Nickerson; four brothers Elmer,
Elton, Leo and Lionel Weatherbee and grandson Stephen
Hawkes.
By Margaret’s request, there will be no
funeral or visitation. Interment will be in United Cemetery,
Millvale, NS.
Arrangements are in the care of Salisbury Funeral,
3350 Route 106, Salisbury West, NB (506-372-4800).
If desired, memorials to Friends of the Moncton
Hospital Palliative Care would be appreciated by the
family.
