1949-2018
It is with great sadness that the family of the late Gordon
Chippin mourn his passing September 24th , 2018
at the Saint John Regional Hospital after a brief battle with
cancer.
A graduate of Fredericton High School, Gordon pursued
business courses at UNB and participated on the Cross Country
team. He eventually joined his late father, Harry and late
Uncle Bernard (Mike) and cousin Seth in the family business Chippin
Bros. Ltd. / Victory Meat Market Ltd.
Gordon was predeceased by his parents Sheila and Harry
Chippin (Z’l ). He is survived by his loving best
friend and partner Alice Manzer for 38 years, Step-Dad to Heidi and
Tom; his sister Marilyn Kaufman and her husband Seymour; his brothers,
David and his wife Gail and Arthur and his wife Janet. He is
survived by a number of nieces and nephews.
Gordon was an avid reader and chess player. He was
a world class bridge and poker player. He had a quiet
intelligence, and for those who knew him, we have lost a special
person.
Thank you to Drs. Stephen Pond, A. Hickey, L. Ruest and Dr.
H. Campbell, the Saint John Regional Hospital. A special
thank you to the staff of McAdam’s Funeral
Home.
There will be no visitation by request. The funeral
service will be held on Wednesday, September
26th, 2018 at 10:30 am in the J.A. McAdam
Memorial Chapel. Interment will be in Sgoolai Israel
Cemetery. For those who wish memorial tributes may be made
to Sgoolai Israel Synagogue Fredericton, NB (www.jewishfredericton.com)
or NB Cancer Society.
