Larry Douglas Allen 19492018

Larry Douglas Allen
1949-2018
Larry Allen of Moncton passed away unexpectantly at his home
on Monday, September 10, 2018. Born in Moncton, he was the son of the
late Lorne and Theresa (Bannister) Allen.
Larry spent the majority of his working career as a dedicated
firefighter in Moncton for over 34 years where he retired as a
Captain. He was an avid baseball fan who also enjoyed Stock Car Racing
and Nascar. Yard sales and auctions were always a draw for Larry,
loving a good bargain and collecting, he could often be found around
town searching for new treasure. As Larry would say, it was “the
thrill of the hunt!”. However, the highlight of his days was
watching his grandchildren participate in baseball, football,
basketball, dance and several other activities.
He will be dearly missed by his loving wife, Mary (Eagles)
Allen; his amazing children Marla Gaylord (Steve) and Michael Allen
(Danielle Johnstone); his beloved grandchildren Connor Allen, Casey
Gaylord, Riley Allen and Audrey Gaylord; his brother Kevin Allen;
sisters Trudy Allen and Janice Carey (Gary); as well as several nieces
and nephews, especially his cherished nephew, Jeffrey
Carey.
The family will be receiving relatives and friends at
Cobb’s Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 330 Whitepine Rd.,
Riverview (869-2007) on Thursday from 7:00 -9:00pm. A funeral service
will take place at the funeral home on Friday, September 14, at 2:00pm
with Rev. David Eagles officiating. Donations can be made in
Larry’s memory to Mountain View United Church or a memorial
of the donor’s choice. Online condolences may be expressed
